CAVITEX C5 Link Flyover Extension Opens

The CAVITEX C5 Link Flyover Extension opened to the motoring public at 6 AM yesterday, as per a press release by tollway CAVITEX on the same day.

The minted segment of the 7.7-kilometer CAVITEX C5 Link spans 1.6 kilometers and links to the 2.2-km flyover, which accords better travel time for motorists traveling to C5 Road coming from Merville, Parañaque, and back.

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has also greenlit provisional toll rates for the extended CAVITEX C5 Link, effective this September. Toll fee for Class 1 vehicles is P37, P74 for Class 2 vehicles, and P112 for Class 3 vehicles.

"We encourage motorists to use the CAVITEX C5 Link flyover extension while it still has no additional charge, for them to enjoy the added benefit," Raul L. Ignacio, president and general manager of Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), was quoted as saying.

According to the release, a new traffic scheme will be introduced for those entering the expressway in Merville. Meanwhile, those coming from Parañaque to Taguig can enter the C5 Link Flyover Merville in front of Shell C5 Southlink in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque.

Ignacio added they expect that over 15,000 motorists will benefit from the new segment and encouraged motorists to use the Easytrip RFID to save time in their travels.
