The Matcha Tokyo

Just past the main entrance, you're immediately greeted by the warm and inviting scent of traditional Japanese tea from The Matcha Tokyo. This charming little spot perfectly embodies Japanese simplicity with sleek, minimalist interiors illuminated by warm lights, all rounded off with a calm ambiance.

The cafe's menu is a matcha lover's dream, offering a variety of drinks made from 100% organic matcha. Aside from the classic matcha lattes, some of their specialties include the Ube Matcha Latte, Matcha Banana Smoothie, and Matcha Lemonade. Best paired with these are their matcha-infused pastries such as the Matcha Strawberry Choux and Matcha French Flan. They have Matcha Soft Serve too! But if you’re not really a tea person, they also have a great coffee lineup just for you.

In addition to these treats, there's a dedicated corner stocked with an assortment of matcha products, including teabags, matcha milk jam, cookies, teaware, and stylish tumblers.

Spice & Soy

Spice & Soy is the epitome of culinary tradition and artistry, offering flavors of Hong Kong with a touch of Japanese influence. The sophisticated yet warm atmosphere splashed with red and gold screams Chinese opulence. But don't be intimidated—surprisingly, the majority of the food is more affordable than its luxurious ambiance suggests.

The menu is a testament to authentic East Asian cuisine. For their Chinese specialties, they have classics like Roasted Peking Duck prepared to your liking, Hot and Sour Seafood Soup, Yang Chow Fried Rice, and Pork Belly Muy Chai among many others. The Japanese half of the menu, meanwhile, includes several Teppanyaki dishes. If you've been here before, you can explore their latest menu offerings: the Sichuan Noodle Bowls!

Chef Lam Ling Kui has spent over 26 years mastering the art that is Cantonese cuisine, served with a slice of Japan at Spice & Soy. Visit them now, or reserve a private dining room for a more intimate culinary experience.

El Born

If you’re on the hunt for something different, check out the authentic Catalan-Mediterranean cuisine at El Born! Their bestsellers include Ensalada de Gambas (Prawn Salad), La Bomba de la Barceloneta (potatoes stuffed with spicy pork), and Carpaccio de Pulpo (Octopus Carpaccio). Some items come with a cooking time advisory, like Chef David’s Rice which is slow-cooked for about 30 minutes, and the specialties From the Josper Charcoal Oven, since Josper takes longer than other cooking methods to ensure maximum flavor. Rest assured, though, that these are well worth the wait!

But their stellar dishes, as happy customers attested, were outshined by the must-try El Born Cheesecake. Hailed one of the best cheesecakes in the Metro, is a Basque burnt cheesecake with a crunchy crust and a creamy center reminiscent of panna cotta. It’s the right amount of sweetness with faint hints of salt and citrus.

Outside of the main dining area is a bar-like counter where you may also enjoy your order and through which you could watch the magic happen in the kitchen. The culinary finesse is truly commendable. Additionally, Barcelona native Chef David commits to sustainability, which he upholds at El Born by using only locally sourced ingredients and organic produce.

The Meat Kitchen

Not quite a restaurant, but inside the marketplace that is Mitsukoshi Fresh is The Meat Kitchen by Gabrielle’s Organic. Premium cuts of organic meat and poultry products are on display for grocery shoppers to add to their carts, or to enjoy then and there in the convenient dining area which appears to be a small gastropub of its own.

Choose your own parts and portions, if you want them on a skewer or with rice, grilled or prepared some other way. The possibilities are endless! Whether you’re craving the classic Liempo, Wagyu Salpicao, or Grilled Chicken Wings, The Meat Kitchen is the best spot for market-to-plate dining.

Bijin Nabe

If you’ve been in the loop on beauty trends in the past decade, you definitely know all about collagen — the natural protein that strengthens, hydrates, and improves skin elasticity. Bijin Nabe’s signature dish is their Collagen Soup, which consists of chicken, prawn, vegetables, and tsukune meatballs cooked in melted collagen.

However, do note that the ingredients are not just dropped into the broth. They are carefully added one by one with careful assistance from the servers as this “Japanese Beauty Hot Pot” is designed to be enjoyed a certain way. It’s more than a bowl of soup; it’s an experience.

They offer other Japanese specialties as well, including Chicken Nanban, Nikumaki Onigiri, and Handmade Tamagoyaki.

They have several appetizers that are sure to set the stage, including Menbosha (Shrimp Toast), and Matang Fries, as well as a diverse array of enticing entrees such as Gochujang Pasta and quadruple fried KFC (Korean fried chicken).
