PHLPost Marks 2023 With Commemorative Year of the Rabbit Stamps
In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) launched exclusive Year of the Rabbit stamps on Monday, Jan. 23.
Designed by artists Ryman Dominic Albuladora, Eunice Dabu, and Agnes Rarangol, the commemorative stamps feature two multi-colored rabbits to symbolize “longevity, peace, and prosperity.”
The Lunar New Year, which began last Jan. 22, is one of the most celebrated holidays in the world, particularly in Asian countries.
In Chinese culture, the Year of the Rabbit represents those born in 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, and so on.
According to postmaster general and CEO Normal Fulgencio, the souvenirs signify the rich heritage of the Filipino Chinese community.
The stamps and exclusive sheets will be available on PHLPost’s website and post offices nationwide starting Wednesday, Jan. 25.
