Step into the emotionally charged world of "El Fuego del Alma" (The Fire of the Soul), a fully staged production by PORVENIR that returns to Sine Pop following its acclaimed staged reading. Running on July 17-19, July 31, Aug. 1-2, and Aug. 21-23, 2026, with performances at 7 PM, this Filipino adaptation of Tennessee Williams' classic "Summer and Smoke" explores themes of longing, faith, desire, and the lingering memories that continue to shape lives long after pivotal moments have passed.
Set against a backdrop of emotional restraint and unspoken yearning, the story invites audiences into a world where old wounds remain open, forgotten memories resurface, and inner fires continue to burn. Through a deeply human narrative, "El Fuego del Alma" examines the delicate tension between duty and passion, offering a moving reflection on the choices that define a lifetime.
Presented by PORVENIR, an independent theatre company dedicated to creating and reimagining Filipino works for contemporary audiences, the production runs for three weekends only.
