Say goodbye to raising a toast in front of your screen as Oktoberfest is back to in-person celebrations this 2022. Yes, the wait is finally over. After holding the event virtually for the past two years, it’s time to gather with friends, drink, eat, and be merry once again. After all, drinking is much better with actual company! What more when you’re attending the biggest Oktoberfest celebration in the Philippines.

When is Oktoberfest 2022 and Where Will it Take Place?

The German Club Manila’s Oktoberfest 2022 will take place on Oct. 14 and 15, 2022, from 6 PM to 2 AM at The Tent at Solaire in Pasay City. The entrance will be at The Gallery, which is on the ground floor of The Shoppes.

To get there, you can ride a free shuttle from SM Mall of Asia (MOA) if you have a Solaire Rewards card. You can also take a quick taxi ride or book a Grab to the venue. For those who will be driving, a free parking space at The Theater car park is available. Solaire is a two-kilometer distance from MOA so if you’re up for it, you can also walk but it will probably take you about 20 minutes or more to get there.

What Can You Expect from This Year’s Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest 2022 is bringing to Manila more than 10,000 liters of German beer made by the world’s oldest brewery Weihenstephaner. For food, expect to fill your appetite with traditional Bavarian dishes, such as German sausages, pretzels, and pork knuckles, prepared by a German chef and a midnight snack buffet. The event is also bringing back Bavarian Sound Express, a 12-man German band from Munich, to play tunes that will keep you singing, dancing, and drinking all night long.

Who Can Attend Oktoberfest?

Guests must be 18 years old and above, which means anyone who’s legal enough to drink can join! No kids allowed as per their child policy, though, even if they’re accompanied by an adult. So, parents, you might want to ask someone to babysit your young ones while you’re partying away.

There’s also a dress code so make sure you come in smart casual attire, or in German traditional clothing like lederhosen or dirndl.

Why Should You Attend?

Free-flowing beer, authentic Bavarian cuisine, a huge cheerful crowd (which a lot of us miss after being locked up in our homes) — we’re going to throw that question back and ask, why shouldn’t you? It’s the best event to drink, eat, and be merry. Not to mention, raffle prizes!

By attending, you get a chance to win a round-trip ticket to Germany, an overnight stay at premium accommodations such as Atmosphere Resorts & Spa, Fairmont, Dusit Thani, and Club Punta Fuego, vouchers from well-known brands and sponsors, and many other rewards. Check out the complete list to know more.

More than just an annual party, Oktoberfest is also an opportunity to help German Club Manila’s Welfare Committee to raise funds for charitable projects, such as feeding and scholarship programs. Learn more about this initiative through their website.

Where Can You Buy Tickets and How Much?

Tickets are available online via Yapsody or through Solaire Box Office, which is open from 12 NN to 9 PM daily. You can also get tickets by visiting the German Club’s office at Eurovilla II Bldg., 118 V.A. Rufino St., Legazpi Village, Makati City.

Ticket rates vary depending on the area (Beergarden, Premium, or VIP) and whether you bought your tickets in advance or not. Your ticket will be valid for one day (your chosen date) and you can go in and out of the venue as long as you don’t lose the wristband they’ll provide. If you lost it, that’s it. You can’t enter anymore.
