Dulaang UP’s "Mga Anak ng Unos" takes center stage from March 28 to April 13, 2025, at IBG-KAL Theater, UP Diliman, delivering a powerful two-play production addressing the climate crisis through mythology and documentary theater.
Under the DUP INNOVATE banner, this twin bill opens with "Sa Gitna ng Digmaan ng mga Mahiwagang Nilalang Laban sa Sangkatauhan", written by Palanca Hall of Famer Joshua Lim So and directed by José Estrella. The play reimagines a world where gods and mythological creatures retaliate against humanity for environmental destruction, forcing audiences to consider their responsibility to preserve nature.
The second play, "The Climate in Crazies", directed by Issa Manalo Lopez and Tess Jamias, is a collage of performances blending folklore, scientific data, and personal narratives. Through the lens of the myth of Mebuyan, it amplifies the urgency of the global climate crisis and the individual actions needed to address it.
