Your Ultimate Guide to the Manila International Book Fair 2022

There’s nothing like sifting through the racks and running your fingers along the spines of hardbounds as the smell of books wafts through the air. Sure, online shopping has made life easier for booknerds who are also introverts. But admit it, the feeling of getting lost in a bookstore and seeing the paperbacks and hardbounds before your eyes is a different experience. So, when Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) announced that they’re bringing back their first onsite event since the pandemic, we’re sure you’ve also blocked your calendar, too!

When is MIBF 2022?

MIBF will run for four days from Sept. 15 to 18 at the SMX Convention Center, its home for years. A Eucharistic celebration will start at 9 AM on Day 1, followed by ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Hall 3.

How Much is the Entrance Fee?

MIBF is handing out free tickets to the fair until Sept. 14. Simply register via Eventplus and download your online ticket. A confirmation will also be sent to your registered email. Make sure not to share your ticket publicly as it contains a special code, which is available for one-time use only. (Psst! Adarna House is also giving away free tickets. Simply print this page and present it at the entrance. You're welcome.)

Who are the MIBF 2022 Exhibitors?

Over 100 exhibitors are expected to attend the fair and offer their products to visitors at discounted prices. Some big publishers that have confirmed attendance are Anvil Publishing House, Ateneo De Manila University Press, Authors Press, Lampara Publishing, Our Daily Bread Ministries, Philippine Christian Bookstore, Phoenix Publishing House, Precious Pages, PSICOM, Rex Education, and Vibal Group.

But if you think the fair is only for bookworms (or students on the hunt for discounted acad books), think again. Art and craft suppliers, tech businesses, and printers will also grace the event carrying products that hobbyists will enjoy.

What are the Highlights?

The most exciting part of this book fair is getting lost in a sea of booths and going home with stacks of books (which hopefully won’t collect dust in your shelf in the next few years). Apart from book-hunting, fairgoers can also look forward to a slew of fun activities, such as book signings, talks led by authors and publishers, and forums.
