Bringing his unique masterpieces home, Pinoy pop appropriation artist Sean Go is set to hold his solo exhibit in Manila titled “Fallacies of Fantasy.” The New York-based artist announced the exhibition through Instagram, expressing his excitement over his first solo show in his hometown.

Go is known in the pop art world for his witty and quirky artworks, which often feature iconic fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Sleeping Beauty, Star Wars, and Marvel characters, among others. One of his most famous works, the “Playmouse,” is a parody of how Disney shapes people’s perception of beauty. He has made several versions of the artwork since its debut.

Before fully committing himself to art, Go worked for various financial services companies such as Ernst and Young, Techstars, and HSBC. He also holds seven degrees, including a Master of Science from Columbia University School of Architecture and a Master of Arts in Fashion from the Parsons School of Design.

The exhibition will be held from June 25-July 7 at the Secret Fresh Gallery, located at the Ronac Art Center in Ortigas Ave., San Juan.
