Pinoy Film 'Bar Boys' Is Getting a Musical Adaptation This May

Ready your hearts and wallets, theater junkies, because the comedy-drama Filipino film “Bar Boys” is getting a musical adaptation soon!
To be staged in May this year, the musical iteration of the 2017 movie will be produced by Barefoot Theatre Collaborative, the theater production company behind the Filipino musical adaptation of “The Last Five Years.”
To amplify the excitement, Barefoot Theatre Collaborative has also unveiled a short teaser video clip for their first production in 2024. More details about the musical, including its cast members, are yet to be announced.
“Bar Boys” follows the story of four individuals, namely Torran, Erik, Christian, and Joshua, a group of friends from different walks of life who aspire to be lawyers. The film illustrates how the four navigated the challenges and hurdles brought about by life and law school.
The Kip Oebanda film starred popular actors Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, Enzo Pineda, and Kean Cipriano. It also earned positive reviews from critics and awards for actress Odette Khan, who played Justice Hernandez, the four boys’ strict professor, in the movie.
