'Walk in Her Shoes' Exhibit on Gender-Based Violence Opens at UP Diliman
The call to end violence against women (VAW) never ends, and as part of its 18-day campaign, the United Nations (UN) Gender Thematic Group (GTG) has brought its experiential traveling exhibition “Walk in Her Shoes” to the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman.
In partnership with various groups and institutions, including the UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS), Bayi, Inc., SafeCity, the UP Center for Women’s Studies Foundation, Inc. (UPCWSFI), and the UP College of Fine Arts (UPCFA), the exhibition offers visitors an immersive audio-visual experience, delving into the realities of gender-based violence encountered by women daily.
The exhibit held its opening on Feb. 20 at the UPCFA’s Arts and Design Building after being previously exhibited at the UN House, the Philippine Senate, and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR).
Visit the exhibit until Feb. 29 and gain a better understanding of the daily struggles that women face. Check out UPCWGS’ official website for more information.
