Rising K-Pop Group DreamNote on PH Culture, Goals, & Opening for 'AREA 52'
It’s D-day, Filo Ahgases and Pages!
Before you join the party at Thai K-pop idol BamBam’s concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tonight, Sept. 22, we’re letting you in on the details about K-Pop's rising girl group DreamNote, who will be the opening act for “AREA 52!”
DreamNote is a six-member girl group from South Korea, consisting of members Youi, Boni, Miso, Sumin, Lara, and Eunjo. The group debuted in 2018 and has since been releasing refreshing and bubbly music such as “Lemonade,” “Hakuna Matata,” and “Wish,” among many others.
Before their first performance in the country, The Beat Manila got the chance to meet the girls through a press conference and a fan meeting event, titled “Secondary Page,” held at the Quantum Skyview, Gateway Mall 2, yesterday, Sept. 21.
Hosted by Philippine-based singer and host Jin-ho Bae, the two-in-one event kicked off with the group’s energetic performance of their latest song, “Lemonade.” The group also talked about Filipino culture, their message to Pinoy Pages, how they prepared for their performance, and their future goals as musicians.
When asked what places they would love to visit in the country, Youi enthusiastically answered that she wants to try to go to a Philippine night market to experience how the locals live and get closer to the Filipino fans. Talking about Pinoy food, Sumin said that chicken adobo appealed to her the most. Fans also suggested to the girls that they try some of our favorite foods, such as sinigang, lechon, balut, and sisig.
Eunjo mentioned that she fell in love with the Filipino fans and was pleasantly surprised by their friendly attitude. She also said that their visit to the Philippines will be the beginning of their good memories with Filo fans and will be the start of their activities in other countries outside South Korea.
We also asked the girls what they felt about being the opener for BamBam’s concert and how they prepared for it. To this end, Youi promised the fans a bright and energetic performance that would surely hype up the crowd! She also said that their goal is to come back to the Philippines to meet the fans again.
The talk was followed by the group’s performance of “Blue” and a fan meeting event, where they took snaps with lucky fans that each member selected and learned popular Filipino buzzwords from them. The girls wrapped up the event with a song from their fifth single album, “Broken,” and a photo opportunity session with the fans.
