BTS Memoir to Have Own Filipino Edition, Local Publisher Apop Confirms

Filipino fans of BTS, rejoice.

"Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record of BTS," the South Korean boy band's memoir that sent fans in a frenzy, will have its own Filipino edition.

Publishing imprint Apop took to Facebook on May 15 to make the announcement, saying it has partnered with Big Hit Music, the publisher of the book in South Korea, for this edition. The Philippine-based publisher is known for translating Korean bestsellers to the English language.

The Filipino version of the memoir will launch simultaneously with its release in South Korea and the United States on July 9. As of this writing, Apop has yet to give details on how to preorder the memoir, although it advised the public to keep its eyes peeled for further announcements in June.

The BTS memoir was only confirmed last Thursday, May 11, by its U.S. publisher, Flatiron Books, after fans speculated about the mystery nonfiction title that is set be released on July 9, according to a report by The New York Times on May 11. Some fans also surmised that Taylor Swift could be the mystery author behind the unnamed book, which had already been pushed to the bestseller lists of Amazon and Barnes & Noble as preorders rose.

The memoir is written by the members of BTS, as well as journalist Myeongseok Kang, and is described as an "oral history" of the group.
