Here Are the 10 Films That Made It to 2023 MMFF
The annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has released the official entry list of movies that will be participating in the festival. Far from its usual eight-film lineup, the festival has qualified 10 out of 30 films that were submitted as per their announcement last Tuesday, Oct. 17.
The MMFF has expanded its film lineup this year, adding six more movies to the list of official entries. These films include "When I Met You in Tokyo," featuring Christopher de Leon and Vilma Santos; "Becky and Badette," with Eugene Domingo and Pokwang; Piolo Pascual's horror film debut, "Mallari"; the coming-of-age film "Firefly," starring Alessandra de Rossi and Cherry Pie Picache; "Broken Hearts Trip," with Christian Bables and Andoy Ranay; and the historical film "Gomburza," featuring Enchong Dee, Dante Rivero, Piolo Pascual, and Cedrick Juan.
The first four movie entries for the MMFF were announced in July. These were "A Mother and Son's Story," starring Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards; "(K)ampon," featuring Beauty Gonzales and Derek Ramsey; the Filipino superhero adaptation "Penduko," with Cristine Reyes and Matteo Guidicelli; and "Rewind," a project collaboration of Star Cinema, APT Entertainment, and Agosto Dos Media, starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.
The annual film festival will kick off with a parade of stars on Dec. 17 in the CAMANAVA area and have its awards night on Dec. 27.
