PH’s First BL Dating Reality Show ‘Sparks Camp’ to Premiere on May 24

Black Sheep Productions’ “Sparks Camp,” aka the first boys love (BL) dating reality show in the Philippines, is set to premiere on Wednesday, May 24, on YouTube.

Hosted by Miss Trans Global 2020 Miss Mela Habijan, the upcoming series will spotlight 10 single contenders who will move to a camp in the hope of finding their mutual connection.

The LGBTQIA+ rights advocate said in a tweet on May 17 that the contestants identify as gay, bisexual, and pansexual.

“Getting to know [the contenders] and their dating histories, insecurities, struggles, desires, and hopes made me reflect on why we need to showcase and open more conversations about LGBTQIA+ love,” Miss Mela said.

“May the potential of this show lead to proud storytelling of all types of love: boys love, girls love, trans love, [and] pan love,” she added.

The campers include Aaron Maniego, Dan Galman, Nick Deocampo, Justin Macapallag, Gabe Balita, Karl Bau, Alex De Ungria, Nat Magbitang, and Bong Gonzales. They will face various challenges and go on one-on-one dates to deepen their bond and attraction.
