Pinoy Pride! Carlos Yulo Bags Two Gold Medals at the Paris Olympics 2024

The Philippines makes historic strides at the 2024 Olympics Games in Paris, as Filipino artistic gymnast Carlos Yulo bags two gold medals, making him the Philippines’ first double Olympic gold medalist.

Yulo earns double gold after dominating the floor exercise with a 15.000 score and raking in a win at the men’s artistic gymnastics vault with 15.116 points after two spectacular performances for two consecutive days. He also earned 12th place at the men's individual all-around.

Yulo makes his grand comeback at the Olympics after falling short at fourth place in the men's vault at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

In celebration of these historic wins, Yulo is set to receive millions of cash prizes, incentives, and rewards from the government and various private companies and businesses. This includes the P10 million cash incentive, as mandated by Republic Act 10699 of 2015, or the "National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act.”

To top it off, the athlete will also receive an additional P6 million in cash from the Philippine House of Representatives. Meanwhile, property developer Megaworld Corporation has pledged a fully furnished condominium worth P35 million and an additional P3 million cash bonus for Yulo.

The SM Group has likewise pledged a P1 million worth of products from SM Retail, consumable within a year.

Other prizes awaiting Yulo after his return to the country are a lifetime of free buffets at all branches of Vikings, a lifetime of free meals at Bacsilog, Mang Inasal, Hagame Sushi and Ramen Bar, BOK Korean Fried Chicken, and Tipsy Pig, a lifetime of free engineering design services from Nexa Engineering, and free gastro consultations and a colonoscopy by Dr. Virgil Lo, among many others.

As of this writing, the Philippines ranks in 22nd place at the Paris Olympics 2024 with Yulo’s two gold medals.
