8 Nightlife, F&B Outlets Lose Entertainment, Liquor Licenses for Breach of COVID-19 Measures

The Singapore Police Force has revoked five public entertainment and eight liquor licenses of eight nightlife and food and beverage (F&B) outlets for repeated breach of COVID-19 Safe Management Measures (SMM).

The establishments involved are Club Peaches, Club One Min, Club Mao by Barcode, Adamouse Private Limited, HooHa Café, Cheers Up, Alive@SG Private Limited, and Tangmen Private Limited, according to the Singapore Police Force on Oct. 12, 2021.

During enforcement checks done by Singaporean government agencies, the operators of the said establishments were discovered to have flouted COVID-19 safety measures repeatedly and blatantly. These breaches ranged from provision of hostessing services and provision of dice games and cards to failure to ensure a cap on group sizes during social gatherings.

The establishments were given closure orders ranging from 10 to 30 days and may be liable for prosecution, the police added. Non-compliance with SMMs under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020 entail imprisonment not exceeding six months and a fine of up to S$10,000 or both.
