MOH Appeals to Singapore Healthcare Corps for Addt’l Volunteers
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is calling for additional nurses and volunteers due to manpower shortage in healthcare facilities brought by the Omicron surge. On Feb. 22, the MOH reported 26,032 COVID-19 infections, bringing Singapore’s total cases since the pandemic started to more than 600,000.
Medical professionals and volunteers (with or without healthcare experience) who will register under the Singapore Healthcare Corps (SHC) are expected to be deployed with paid contract positions starting this month. Upon registration, applicants will be asked about their personal information, specialisation (if there is any), and deployment preferences. Moreover, the SHC also offers unpaid volunteer opportunities for those who want to help.
