MOH Removes Capacity Limit for Nightlife Establishments
Singaporeans can now party all night as the Ministry of Health (MOH) removes the capacity limit of nightlife establishments that involve dancing among patrons.
“From 14 June 2022, nightlife establishments with dancing among patrons will no longer be subjected to a capacity limit, and patrons will not need to obtain a negative Antigen Rapid Test (ART) result to enter the venue,” the MOH said in a press release last Friday, June 10.
While fully capacity is now allowed, only those who are fully vaccinated can enter such establishments.
The MOH noted that Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (SMMs), or VDS for short, still applies and operators are required to conduct checks to make sure only fully vaccinated individuals enter their establishments. To make sure these are followed, random checks may be conducted by enforcement officers.
Nightlife businesses were allowed to reopen in April with SMMs in place, but they had to observe a capacity limit of 75% for large settings.
