S’pore OKs Work-Related Events Up to 1,000 People, But No Food and Drinks Allowed

Work-Related Events (WREs) between 51 and 1,000 participants are now allowed starting today, Jan. 3, granted that the events are mask-on only.

According to the Ministry of Manpower on Jan. 1, WREs must strictly involve no consumption of food or beverages. Participants in the event must also be predominantly static, meaning either sitting down or standing in a fixed position, and will be subjected to vaccination-differentiated Safe Management Measures. They must also maintain a one-metre distance between each other.

Prior to this, WREs were allowed but only with a cap of 50 participants. The approval of larger WREs thus gives more enterprises to organize events like townhalls or award ceremonies.

Organisers of larger WREs must notify the authorities of their event via this online form.
