Vietnamese restaurant Mrs Pho House has opened another branch in Takashimaya, so make sure you don't miss it. Upon stepping in, you'll fall in love with Mrs Pho's breezy rattan and wooden furniture and fixtures, along with the foliage dotted around the space and its emerald green tiled-walls that add just the right amount of drama, while still being easy on the eyes.

Mrs Pho serves a wide array of dishes, such as the traditional charcoal hotpot, festive delicacies from heirloom recipes, skewers, and even plant-based dishes so vegetarian fellows don't have to feel sad. It's offering 50% off its soup bases from Nov. 1-30 as an opening special. Choose among Crab Bisque, Nourishing Collagen Pepper Pork, Vietnamese Perilla Mutton, and Herbal Chicken Mushroom!

Dont Yell At Me

Filled with angst and dread because of postmodern living? Taiwanese bubble tea chain Dont Yell At Me just opened a café in Orchard Central – its first ever in Singapore. Having had its grand opening just last Oct. 29, 2021, all eyes are on Dont Yell At Me as the newest kid on the bubble tea block. At first glance, you'd think the store's name is quirky just for the sake of being quirky, but it is actually rooted in being a safe space of inclusivity and positivity.

Its all-white interiors, modern furniture, and chic fixtures could pass off as an Off-White store, if Virgil Abloh ever went into the bubble tea business, but it's only staying true to its name. The spare café lends peacefulness and clarity to the mind, and its refreshing drinks are just what you need to calm down and reflect on your day. No bad vibes allowed!

Griglia Open Fire Italian Kitchen

Griglia takes its name after "grigliata," which is known as a summer outdoor grill in Italy. This contemporary Italian grill restaurant recreates the wonder of a classic grigliata by cooking dishes in a special custom-made cast iron charcoal grill. The classic dishes are served in smaller portions to encourage trying the offerings of its extensive menu, which is conceptualised by chef Andrea De Paolo and executed by head chef Federico Schiraldi. We recommend its Hokkadio Scallops Crudo (S$22), Grass Fed Wagyu Beef Striploin (S$68), and House-Made Pappardelle (S$20), finished off with The Italian Souffle (S$14) with negroni ice cream.

Flipper's in Bugis Junction

All-day breakfast peeps sure are spoiled for choice, what with the opening of Flipper’s in Bugis Junction in late-October. Ah. Thicc and fluffy Japanese soufflé pancakes topped with whipped cream, hazelnut chocolate, or fresh fruits – if you're not salivating at the sound of that, then we don't know what's wrong with you. Kidding! Whether you've got a sweet or savoury tooth, you'll surely love the offerings of Flipper's. We recommend the Kiseki Pancake Fresh Fruits (S$21.80) and the Eggs Benedict Soufflé Pancake (S$22.80).

Pi Food

Craving for Hong Kong cuisine in Singapore? Pi Food's your best bet. It offers Hong Kong-style noodles, rice, congee, roast meats, soups, stir-fried dishes, and other authentic Hong Kong favourites that you usually won't find in the city-state, among which are Roasted Duck Rice (S$12.80), Beef Brisket Noodles (S$12.80), and HK-style Beef Curry Rice (S$15.80).
