Home to the busiest shopping centres in Singapore, Jurong Point is well-known for its abundant culinary options, which abound from day to night. The neighbourhood is dotted with some of the best cafés and restaurants that you can choose from, depending on your cravings.

If you get hungry while strolling around the area, we’ve rounded up eight of the best dining establishments to help narrow down your choices.

Toast Box

Inspired by the famous Nanyang coffee and toast culture, Toast Box is a café in Jurong Point that opened its doors in 2005. Coffee lovers surely can’t resist the aroma of freshly-ground caramelised coffee beans that fill the air of the shop.

Its signature Nanyang coffee is brewed using the traditional cloth coffee stock. Its beans are made of coffee cherries, which are processed using the dry or wet method, depending on location and resources available. It goes great with warm, buttered toast and soft-boiled eggs.

Other Asian delights offered at Toast Box are mee rebus (boiled noodles), curry chicken with rice, and laksa. For take home products, you may want to try its crunchy peanut butter, two-in-one kopi, Hainanese kaya with honey.

Central Hong Kong Cafe

Founded in 2004, Central Hong Kong Café is one of the first coffee shops in Singapore that offers Hong Kong staples and street food. Some of the all-time favourites you can order are Hong Kong wanton noodles, beef brisket noodles, and chee cheong fun (steamed rice noodle rolls) Hong Kong-style, as well as popular breads and toasts of Hong Kong.

Flash Coffee

For coffee lovers who are always on the go, Flash Coffee should be your top choice. This café in Jurong Point is known for its iconic yellow storefronts. It is a tech-enabled coffee chain that specialises in affordable yet high-quality coffee.

You may also order using its app and pay online. Some of its highly addictive signature coffees include premium blends (black and white) and essentials (Americano, Cappuccino, Chocolate Hazelnut, Flat White, Latte, Mocha, Oat Cappuccino, and Piccolo). World Latte Art Champion Arnon Thitiprasert curates these blends. Other drinks you mustn’t miss are Yuan Yung Latte, Dirty Bandung Latte, Milo Dinosaur Shake, and Avo Latte, to name a few.

Brio

Brio is a casual European street food restaurant and coffee joint in Jurong Point that has been serving halal-certified dishes in Singapore for more than a decade. Tapas, pizza, risotto, burgers, spaghetti, and salads are all on the menu.

Some of its chef-recommended specialties are Oxtail Risotto, Beef Ragu Pappardelle, Duck and Waffle, Allo Scoglio Seafood Pizza, and Salted Egg Truffle Fish and Chips.

For desserts, Brio has a wide selection of milkshakes with flavours like salted caramel, mocha java, Nutella and Oreo, and matcha vanilla. Each costs S$8.50.

PUTIEN

Serving homestyle Fujian cuisine, PUTIEN is a Chinese restaurant in Jurong Point that takes pride in its fresh ingredients to preserve authenticity. The restaurant is a one-star Michelin awardee from 2016 to 2022.

Inspired by the coastal location and mountainous regions of Fujian province, its menu is filled with fresh fish, shellfish, and mushrooms cooked in different styles: braised, stewed, steamed, and boiled.

Swensen’s

Since 1979, this American restaurant in Jurong Point has been the home of “fried chicken ice cream!”

Wondering what it tastes like? The fried chicken ice cream pint at Swensen’s Singapore is crunchy and creamy with a “delightfully icy core” and cornflakes. The “chicken bones” also make a tasty treat as they are edible and made with different flavours like cookies and cream, chocolate coating, and vanilla ice cream. You can purchase a pint of two pieces or a box of eight pieces.

Swensen’s aims to make any occasion more joyous with its delectable ice cream cakes and hearty meals. Aside from its popular fried chicken ice cream, other food you can indulge in are all-day brunch, salads, fish and chips, grilled dishes, baked rice, and more.

Monster Curry

Monster Curry is the only restaurant in Singapore that serves Japanese demi-glace curry. It comes in “monstrous” plates (35 and 41 centimetres) and is made with 14 different vegetables and spices. You can choose between five levels of spiciness with homemade chili sauce – normal, extra, very spicy, super spicy, and monster spicy.

The combo curry rice is good for sharing between two to three persons. The price starts at S$29.90. On the menu, you’ll find original curry, katsu curry, seafood curry, jumbo ebi curry, and curry ramen.

Aside from curries, this Japanese restaurant also takes pride in its fan-favourite dessert, Honey Toasts, with flavours like mixed berries, matcha with azuki beans, tangy mango, caramel with marshmallow, and chocolate banana. Prices range between S$10.90-S$12.90.

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao

One of the most regarded restaurants in the city-state, Crystal Jade marries both the traditional flavours of Northern Chinese specialties and modern gastronomy. Its culinary expertise has been recognised with a Michelin star and multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand awards.

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao in Jurong Point is an all-day casual dining establishment, known for serving the famous Chinese steamed dumplings.
