Bangkok Retains Crown as ‘Best Leisure City in the Asia-Pacific’ for Sixth Consecutive Time
Bangkok has retained its crown as the “Best Leisure City in the Asia-Pacific” for the sixth consecutive time in the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards 2022, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said in a press release on Oct. 20. This is the 11th time the capital has won the title since 2008.
“Bangkok’s continued recognition by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific voters as a favourite holiday city complements so wonderfully the TAT’s ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign,” TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said.
“It reflects the enduring appeal of the Thai capital, and also how the city offers so much that’s in line with the kingdom’s 5F, 4M soft-power foundations of Food, Film, Fashion, Festival, Fight, Music, Museum, Master, and Meta. It can all be found in Bangkok.”
Retaining the same spot from the 2021 awards, Bangkok placed third, next to Singapore and Hong Kong as the “Best Business City in Asia,” while Thai Airways International (THAI) placed third in the “Best Airline in the Asia-Pacific” after Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
Meanwhile, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok topped the “Best Business Hotel in the Asia-Pacific” and placed second on the “Best Business Hotel in the World” list.
Research agency Business Intelligence independently compiled votes from readers and subscribers between July and September 2022 to decide the awardees for this year’s Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards.
