Barkada Hosts Barrio Fiesta for Philippine Independence Day Celebration

Barkada, Hong Kong's beloved modern Filipino restaurant, will host an eight-day "Barrio Fiesta" to celebrate Philippine Independence Day, featuring a series of events from June 12-20. The festivities begin June 12 with live music by Iris Pascual from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Guests can also sample the new Pancit Malabon shrimp and squid noodles and enjoy HK$50 San Miguel and Red Horse Draft Beer until midnight.

On June 15, Barkada will hold a Boodle Fight Free-Flow Karaoke Brunch from 12 PM to 3:30 PM. The kamayan-style menu will include Barkada BBQ Chicken, Beef Tapa, Lechon Kawali, Chicken Lumpia, Tuna Kinilaw, Mango Salad, and unlimited garlic rice. A vegetarian/vegan menu will also be available. The brunch will be followed by a karaoke party starting at 2 PM. Pricing is HK$488 per person for food, and free-flow drinks for HK$200 per person (alcoholic) or HK$80 per person (non-alcoholic). Reservations can be made on Barkada's event page.
The celebration will conclude on June 20 with a Barrio Bartender Party from 8 PM onwards. Guest bartenders from Mostly Harmless, The Artifact, Call Me Al, and the Social Den will serve Filipino-inspired cocktails. Barkada co-founder Jen Balisi and head chef Josh Matocinos will present a special street food menu featuring Sisig Tacos, Barkada Smash Longganisa Slider, and Filipino Pan-Fried Lasagna.
