Sai Ying Pun’s Crushed Wine Bar Expands Space, Teases New Menu

Just a few months since its opening, wine retailer Crushed Wine’s bar in Sai Ying Pun is off to a great start this year with a bigger space and a revamped menu.

First unveiled in August last year, Crushed Wine Bar has been redefining the wine and dine experience for wine enthusiasts in Hong Kong since it opened its doors in Sai Ying Pun on Second Street. Last December, the bar opened its upstairs space to accommodate additional 20 seats, making it perfect for intimate groups. Crushed Wine also teased a new menu, which will be revealed on Jan. 26, according to its Instagram post.

Crushed Wine Bar presents a wine bar concept where customers can enjoy a variety of exquisite wines while indulging in small plates that complement the spirit.

The bar offers numerous kinds of wines for all sorts of budgets, from white and red wines to rosé, orange, and sparkling wines. Their wine list is curated by South African wine specialist and vinophile Leigh-Ann Luckett.

Here, guests can score the bar’s three- or five-glass wine flights, which cost HK$180 and HK$280, respectively, while nibbling on contemporary comfort food. This includes the Aubergine, Whipped Roast Chili, and Chocolate with Chili Crisp (HK$98), which is a perfect pair with Le Fraghe Bardolino (HK$80 per glass).

For white wine lovers, the Luddite Saboteur White (HK$120 per glass) is a must-try, especially with a serving of Braised Leeks with Almond and Garlic Puree (HK$88).

Upstairs, there’s also a more intimate tête-à-tête setting, where guests can indulge in veteran restaurateur Camille Glass’ creative menu while sipping on fine spirits. The menu includes the chef’s Roast Acorn Squash with Burrata and Hazelnut Brown Butter (HK$248), Scallop Risotto with Sumac Beurre Blanc (HK$298), and Roquefort Mac and Cheese (HK$148).
