The Chairman Ranked Best Hong Kong Restaurant in Asia's 50 Best 2023 List

The Chairman was awarded the Best Hong Kong Restaurant and number 13th best in Asia by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in the 10th edition of the award ceremony held in Singapore on Mar. 28.

The four other restaurants that made the top 50 from Hong Kong are Caprice at Four Seasons Hotel (No. 49), Neighborhood (No. 29), Wing Lei Palace (No. 37), and Mono (No. 41).

Launched in Singapore in 2013, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants is an annual list of restaurants organised and compiled by William Reed Business Media. This year, there are six new entries, with Chennai’s Avartana at No. 30 being the highest.

Despite the former pandemic that has caused havoc in the food and beverage sector for three years, William Drew, the Director of Content for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, says the crisis showed “the restaurant community is a global family”.

“We also believe that consumers now have a greater appreciation of going to a restaurant and feeling connected with the communities that these restaurants engender, as well as the hospitality one experiences in a restaurant setting."

The 2023 drew a panel of 318 judges from 26 countries to review and rank the best restaurants in Asia, with Japan earning the most entry spots on the list. There were new entries from Bangkok, Manila and Beijing, with Le Du in Bangkok clinching first place.
