Pasta house Pici is bringing back their well-received charity event, the Pici Pasta Run, for 2022. Slated for Sunday Oct. 23, the occasion begins with a free pasta meal at Pici’s first-ever branch in Francis Yard, followed by a seven-kilometre journey on foot to the newest Pici venue in Taikoo where another feast awaits.

Entrants all join the race in groups of four, with their registration fees going into Mind HK, a non-profit focused on supplying support and awareness for mental health in the city. Participation is split into separate sessions to keep to social distancing guidelines.

First held in June 2021, the now-annual event entailed up to over 250 participating runners darting between the Pici locations in Wan Chai and Kennedy Town while bedecked in special costumes. The first edition of the race raised more than HK$50,000 in donations, leading to an enthusiastic follow-up with this year’s iteration.

The end of the finish line earns three winning teams fantastic prizes from Pici. The team going in for gold can enjoy a free month’s worth of pasta, whilst the team ranking silver can receive a week of free pasta, and a brunch is reserved for the bronze team, all of which are redeemable at Pici venues across Hong Kong.

To win, teams will have to tick off the creativity box in showing up with the best costumes and show that they had fun competing. All participating teams will receive Pici merch, free food, and a medal upon completing the race.

Sign-ups are available through this link, with registration closing on Oct. 18.
