JoyYou Card Application for Eligible Persons Born in 1961 Now Open
Eligible persons born in 1961 may now apply for the JoyYou Card beginning today, Dec. 1, via the Octopus App mobile application or by post.
The JoyYou Card is an Octopus Card that's customised for the Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities or the HK$ Scheme, which allows card carriers to enjoy HK$2 concessionary fares in public transport.

According to a government press release on Nov. 30, eligible persons aged 60 to 64 must use their JoyYou card from Feb. 27, 2022, to enjoy its benefits. The HK$20 application fee for first-time applicants will be subsidised by the Hong Kong government.
Applications must be passed before Dec. 31, otherwise eligible persons will not be able to receive their JoyYou Cards before Feb. 27, 2022, to access the HK$2 scheme on that day.
