Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2023 Opens Athlete Registration for Twenty Sports

Registration has now opened for Gay Games 11 2023 Hong Kong, co-hosted by Hong Kong and Mexico's Guadalajara city. Participants aged 18 or older are all welcome to register and take part in twenty individual and sports across the two cities.

The 11th edition of the Gay Games will be split between Hong Kong and Mexico's Guadalajara, a historic first for the event, due to take place from Nov. 3 to 11 2023. This marks the first time the Games have been held in Asia, home to an estimated 221 million LGBTQ+ people, signifying a significant milestone in the region's struggle for acceptance.

Twenty sports have been confirmed for the Hong Kong edition of the Games, including; athletics, badminton, football, swimming and tennis. Meanwhile, Guadalajara will host 19 categories.

Each GGHK 2023 participant will submit a General Registration Fee and a Participation Fee for each sport enrolled by the Participant, and will in turn receive a GGHK2023 Welcome goodie bag, official GGHK2023 Participant’s guidebook, aGGHK2023 Participation Medal, access to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and a free daily pass to the GGHK2023 Village

The Sports Participation fees range from HK$200 to HK$800, and the General Registration fee can be discounted to HK$1350 until the end of February. To register for the Gay Games Hong Kong 2023, click here.

“GGHK stands for Unity In Diversity and everyone aged 18 and above is welcome to participate regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, or even training level ” said a spokesperson for Gay Games 11.

“We believe that hosting the Games for the very first time here will be a momentous experience and a cornerstone for our Asian community as well as for the whole world. GGHK can bring all of us together in the name of sport, fairness, respect and friendship."
