Hong Kong Marathon 2023: Where to Watch and Cheer Runners in Sunday’s Race
The much anticipated 25th Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023. The 37,000-enrolment quota has been filled, and competing runners are ready to race around Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and Tsing Yi Island.
The race represents the first ‘M’ Mark event to be staged in Hong Kong, following the recent easing of Covid restrictions by the Government.
Alongside the participation of local runners, international elite athletes are also invited to join the 25th edition of the race, representing a welcome return to normalcy with the community.
Where to watch the Hong Kong Marathon
Tsim Sha Tsui
Catch the beginning of the marathon and half-marathon races at the start area located at Nathan Road outside The Mira hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Nathan Road (outside The Mira, Hong Kong).
Causeway Bay
Marathon fans can again cheer on the runners as they race home, with the re-introduction of the ‘Cheering Zone’ in the soccer pitches no. 1 and 2 close to the finishing line at Victoria Park.
Tsing Yi and beyond
Hong Kongers can also cheer support to runners along the entire half-marathon and full-marathon course at cordoned areas along the route, greatly enhancing the excitement of the race for both runners and audiences alike.
