Celebrate creativity and culture at Design District Hong Kong (#ddHK), a vibrant tourism event running from Dec. 12, 2024, to Feb. 14, 2025. Organized by the Tourism Commission, this year’s theme, “Creative Journey · Infinite Discovery,” spotlights the unique charms of Tsuen Wan and Sha Tau Kok through captivating artistic and creative installations.
Explore the multi-faceted neighborhood of Tsuen Wan, where history, creativity, and vibrant urban life blend seamlessly with natural scenery. In Sha Tau Kok, discover a treasure trove of lesser-known cultural and natural gems, with highlights including the frontier town’s rich history and eco-tourism experiences such as the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark.
The event features two market festivals: “Into the Landscape: Eco-art Festival” in Tsuen Wan on Dec. 28-29, 2024, and “Sha Tau Kok Seaside Weekend Market” on Jan. 18-19, 2025, offering local delicacies, handmade goods, music, and cultural activities.
Admission is free, though some activities may require registration. Visitors to Sha Tau Kok must obtain a valid Tourism Closed Area Permit. Check the official event website for schedules and details.

The Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF) 2025 brings a spectacular lineup of world-class performances from February 28 to March 29, featuring theatre, dance, music, Chinese opera, and innovative interactive experiences. Since its inception in 1973, HKAF has been committed to enriching the city’s cultural landscape by presenting leading local and international artists across genres.
This year’s highlights include "Bells and Spells" by Victoria Thierrée Chaplin starring Aurélia Thierrée (March 11-12 at Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre), "Nureyev & Friends—A Ballet Gala Tribute" (March 21-22 at Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre), Shanghai Yue Opera House (February 27-March 1 at Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre), the immersive VR Interactive Dance "Le Bal de Paris de Blanca Li" (February 27-March 9 at Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre), and more! Live art performances will take center stage on March 28, with Lawrence Lek’s NOX at Laundry Steps and affect lab’s Bleeding into the Metaverse at F-Hall Studio. These performances delve into themes of identity, artificial intelligence, and body diversity.
Commercial galleries at Tai Kwun will host intriguing exhibitions, including Oswaldo Vigas: The Voice in the Mirror, Dominique Fung: Beneath the Golden Canopy, and Stephen Thorpe: The Last Word Always Belongs to the Mountain. Additionally, "Seven" Contemporary Lacquer Art Exhibition and Sending You a Bouquet from Space by Aries will be on display.
