See “In drawing, in remembrance,” a solo exhibition by Pakistani artist Shahana Rajani, on view at Para Site Hong Kong from Oct. 11, 2025, to Feb. 1, 2026. This marks Rajani’s first institutional presentation in the city, showcasing powerful video works that trace the impact of infrastructural violence and climate collapse on communities in Pakistan’s Indus River Delta.

The exhibition features “Four Acts of Recovery” (2024), a meditative documentary that captures the artistic and spiritual resilience of a Delta family using drawing, mapmaking, and painting as ways to reconnect with a homeland threatened by urban and environmental crises. Alongside it, the newly premiered “Lines that World a River” (2025) expands this reflection into a critique of capitalist and political forces displacing local communities near Karachi.

Curated by Jessie Kwok in collaboration with Yuanyu Li, the exhibition immerses viewers in sound, imagery, and objects from the Indus Delta, inviting parallels between Karachi and Hong Kong’s histories of development and water. Visitors are encouraged to engage in their own acts of remembrance, contemplating the shared resilience that flows across geographies.
