Siamese Boat Noodle Joint ThongSmith Opens First Overseas Spot in Hong Kong

Bangkok’s cult favorite noodle house ThongSmith has officially opened its first overseas outpost in Hong Kong, bringing its signature take on Thai boat noodles to Wan Chai.

Renowned for its elevated approach to tradition and street food, ThongSmith blends comfort and refinement, reimagining the traditional Thai boat noodles with a more indulgent twist. The Hong Kong branch stays true to its Bangkok roots, serving its signature broth simmered for eight hours to achieve a deep, umami-rich flavor.
Each bowl is finished with a premium variety of toppings, such as Australian Wagyu beef and sliced Kurobuta pork, offering a more sumptuous take on a Thai classic.
Alongside the main menu, the outlet also serves a lineup of Hong Kong-exclusive dishes such as grilled pork jowl with papaya salad, stir-fried minced beef and braised tendon over rice, and steamed bread with warm pandan or Thai-tea flavored custard.
ThongSmith first opened in 2018 and now operates more than 20 locations across Bangkok. Its expansion to Hong Kong marks the beginning of its international growth, bringing its modern take on traditional Thai boat noodles across the region.
