Immerse yourself in the dreamlike world of Alejandro Piñeiro Bello at Pace Hong Kong with "Solo Quiero Soñar (I Just Want to Dream)," running from Sept. 18 to Oct. 18, 2025. This marks the artist’s first solo exhibition in Hong Kong and features 10 never-before-seen nightscape paintings created in 2025. These works evoke the surreal, lyrical, and mysterious dimensions of nighttime, drawing viewers into contemplative and meditative worlds where Caribbean landscapes blend with otherworldly visions.
Piñeiro Bello, born in Havana, Cuba in 1990 and now based in Miami, paints with oil on raw linen or burlap, forging vibrant layers of color that reflect the beauty, chaos, and uncanniness of the natural world. Influenced by artists like Wifredo Lam, Pablo Picasso, and traditional Chinese landscape painting, he explores myth, poetry, and folklore through abstract and semi-abstract compositions. Highlights include La Estrella Que Nos Guíaba Tambien Desapareció, Señora, Señora (The Star That Guided Us Also Disappeared, Lady, Lady) and Vientos Contrarios (Contrary Winds), which combine cosmic symbolism with intricate gestures and calligraphic marks.
Presented at Pace Hong Kong, this exhibition invites visitors to wander through Piñeiro Bello’s evocative nocturnal visions, where stars, moons, and ancestral echoes guide each poetic canvas.
