The much-loved AIA Carnival returns to Central Harbourfront from Dec. 18, 2024, to Feb. 16, 2025, marking a milestone 10th birthday celebration. Headlining this year’s festivities is AIA Alta Presents The World Circus, featuring jaw-dropping international acts curated by the renowned Gandeys Circus. Running from Dec. 18, 2024, to Feb. 9, 2025, this 65-minute show promises to mesmerize with new and returning crowd-favorite performances under the Big Top.

At the heart of this exhibition is the artist’s personal story: inspired by his brother-in-law’s experience of finding friendship and belonging on a New York City basketball court after immigrating from Pakistan, Pates brings this powerful memory to life through his evocative paintings.
