Hong Kong’s biggest LGBTQIA+celebration, Pink Dot, is turning 10years old this year, and it's ready to throw a fuchsia-themed party like never before! On September 22, 2024, from 1 pm to 7 pm, head over to the Art Park in the West Kowloon Cultural District for the city’s largest outdoor LGBTQIA+ carnival.
Pink Dot made its Hong Kong debut in 2014, bringing the vibrant spirit of the original Singaporean event, which started in2009. Organized by the registered Pink Dot Group in Hong Kong, with joint committee members from various local LGBTQ+ organizations, this annual event has grown into the city’s premier LGBTQIA+ celebration. For a decade, it has been a beacon of diversity andinclusivity.
This year, the LGBTQIA+ carnival promises an exciting lineup of activities. Explore 80 booths offering arts and crafts, games, insightful talks, and engaging cultural forums. Thirty non-governmental organizations will be present to raise awareness about important LGBTQ+ issues. There will be a family & pets zone to chill out in, and over 20 epic performancesby local artists.
Pink Dot will welcome PinkAmbassadors, actress Lana Wong Ha-wai and local singers Nan Yik-pong and Chau Yan-ting, to the stage. Get ready to groove as transgender singer-songwriter Xavian Wu, who goes by the artist name SY, will be there keeping the energy high and the music flowing all day long.
And don’t miss the iconic Coco Pop, a leading drag queen and diva in Hong Kong, who will be leading Queen Collection HK from 6:30 pm onwards, adding a splash of glamor and excitement to the event.
