Welcome a Colourful Lunar New Year at Happy Wednesday's 'Blossom Nights'

Prepare for a “fun and fortuitous” festivity as sports and betting entertainment club Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) is celebrating Lunar New Year with Happy Valley Racecourse’s Happy Wednesday “Blossom Nights!”

Held on every Happy Valley night race from Jan. 17 to Feb. 21, “Blossom Nights” will feature a series of events filled with exciting activities while honouring local tradition and culture.

Prepare to see live bands and performances that pay homage to classic Chinese traditions. On Feb. 15, visitors will witness a traditional lion dance that enlists ribbon dancers.

There will also be a red fan dance, which will mix Chinese tradition and modern fun with cool choreography and upbeat electronic music.

Partygoers can also participate in various games that will bring them good luck for the Year of the Dragon, such as spinning the lucky windmills and a Lunar New Year trivia game.

Of course, a party is not complete without good food. The event is setting up the Beer Garden, where guests can indulge in traditional fares like abalone and chicken puff, tangerine panna cotta, and tossed noodles.

The venue will come alive with colourful cherry blossom displays, which represent new beginnings and longevity, plus red lanterns, neon lights, and lucky gold coins that celebrate old and new Hong Kong.
