Club Bâtard: Exclusive Private Members’ Club Opens in Hong Kong

Club Bâtard, the up and comingprivate members' club in Hong Kong, is set to open its doors this summer in the iconic Pedder Building. Spanning across three luxurious storeys, this exclusive venue will occupy an impressive 18,000 square feet in the heart of Central.

Founder Michael Wu, of The Fine Wine Experience, and restaurateur Randy See, from Bâtard and Piccolo Concepts, have joined forces to bring this extraordinary club’s wine programme to life. At the heart of Club Bâtard lies Hong Kong's largest walk-in wine cellar, boasting over five thousand references. Members will have the privilege of enjoying these exceptional wines at the club's bars and restaurants, all at retail prices without any restaurant markups.

Renowned luxury hospitality designer Joyce Wang and her studio are leading the conversion of the historic Pedder Building, refreshing its Beaux-Arts style and preserving its heritage. This landmark colonial-era site, which first opened its doors in 1924, will be revitalized to create an enchanting setting for Club Bâtard.

Within Club Bâtard, members will have access to three exclusive restaurants. Bâtard, the beloved French dining venue currently located within The Fine Wine Experience, will relocate to the club, along with the highly sought-after Hop Sze restaurant, renowned for its traditional Hong Kong specialties. Additionally, Le Clos will provide all-day dining options, accompanied by expertly crafted cocktails by Raphael Holzer.

For whisky enthusiasts, Club Bâtard will feature OBE, a whisky-focused bar curated by Diego Lanza, former head of Whisky Asia at Bonhams. OBE, which stands for "Old Bottle Effect," will showcase an extraordinary collection of the world's finest and rarest whiskies.

With a limited membership of only 1,200, Club Bâtard offers an exclusive experience across its spacious floors. Memberships are now available at a special pre-opening joining fee of HK$100,000, providing unparalleled access to this exceptional private members' club.
