Island Shangri-La Unveils Yun Wellness, A Nature Inspired Oasis

Shangri-La Group is launching Yun Wellness, a luxurious and nature-inspired urban oasis to spearhead the brand’s own take on Asian hospitality in wellness and relaxation.

Located on L8 of the newly renovated Island Shangri-La, Yun Wellness seeks to channel the bounty of earth’s resources to sway guests, with holistic therapies and wellness experiences infused with signature Shangri-La service.

The word “蕴” (Yun) is derived from a famous fourth century Chinese poem, titled ‘Ascend Lonely Isle on the River’ (登江中孤嶼) – in which the author was passionately moved by the wonder and beauty of nature.

“We want to reflect the romance of Chinese poetry as well as the beauty of nature to create a space that supports guests’ journeys towards better holistic wellness, and helps them discover their own personal Shangri-La”, says Kong Leong Chan, Regional CEO of the Shangri-La Group. 

Featuring a carefully curated collection of treatments tailored to guests’ every need – Yun Wellness aims to meet the physical, emotional, and mental wellness needs for any stage of life.

Offering body treatments, facials, pre- and postnatal care, physiotherapy, osteopathy, personal training, and nutrition advice – the expert practitioners of Yun Wellness aim to support guests through every step of their wellness journey.

Designed by acclaimed Spanish interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, Yun Wellness recreates the lush greenery surrounding Island Shangri-La, bringing nature indoors. The space features a community area, spa, outdoor swimming pool, innovative gym kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment, and an elegant hair salon.

The spa offers ten luxurious treatment rooms, including two specifically designed for couples and two dedicated to health consultations and physiotherapy. 

The new wellness space offers a variety of massages, body treatments, and facials, as well as programmes specifically tailored to the needs of both men and women designed in collaboration with the Dr. Burgener medi-spa line.

On top of spa and wellness treatments, Yun Wellness will be offering personalised fitness plans and resources for members – including movement and mindfulness practices, HIIT and Resistance Training, Pilates Reformer classes, Aerial Yoga, and Meditation – to help guests achieve their long-term personal goals.
