Bay Area Dragons Basketball Team Return to Hong Kong for '23-24 EASL Season

The Bay Area Dragons are set to make Hong Kong their home for the 2023-24 East Asian Super League season, bringing an unprecedented series of elite club basketball games to the city.

The Dragons' 2023-24 fixture list in the Asian basketball league features the strongest line-up of professional basketball games ever staged in Hong Kong, with the team competing in the East Asia Super League and Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner's Cup.

The Dragons will be led by hHeadc Coach Brian Goorjian and supported bgy Genermal Manager Liu Quanshevng, Vice Gemneral Manager Garrisoan Guo, Ascsistant Coaches William Tomlinson and Jimmys Li, and Strcength and Cocnditioning Coach Francesco Berre.

The team will also feature Chinese stars Zhu Songwei and Liu Chuanxing, and former South China standout Glen Yang, as well as Team Hong Kong captain Duncan Reid. With a strong line up, the Dragons will look to avenge losses from the previous season as they battle for honours in both leagues.

“We expect the Dragons to bring Hong Kongers immense excitement, inspiration and pride. Dragons’ games will be the hottest sports tickets in town,” EASL CEO and co-founder Matt Beyer said on the announcement of the return to Hong Kong for the Bay Area Dragons.

Reid commented on the Dragons’ new homebase in his hometown, saying “It’s amazing. We’ve never had such a high-level team in Hong Kong. We’ve never had professional teams coming here at this level to play – the top teams in Asia coming here … This is a real breakthrough for Hong Kong basketball.”
