FWD Hosts Chinese New Year Cup Starring International Football Legends

The Chinese New Year Cup is set to return to the Hong Kong Stadium this Feb. 13! Sponsored by FWD Insurance and co-organized by The Football Association of Hong Kong, this prestigious event promises to reignite Hong Kong's football spirit with a friendly match between World Legends and Hong Kong Legends, marking a celebration of the sport's rich heritage in the city.

The FWD Insurance Chinese New Year Cup 2024 coincides with the festive season, making it an extra special celebration. With a total of 16 international stars, the event is a rare opportunity for fans to witness some of the game's greatest players in action.

This year's tournament is particularly special, with the announcement of three more football greats joining the already stellar lineup. Brazilian Ballon d’Or winner Rivaldo, Italian "Golden Boy" Alessandro Del Piero, and four-time La Liga top scorer David Villa are set to grace the field, elevating the match to a world-class level. New additions to the roster include David Villa, Alessandro Del Piero, and Rivaldo, all of whom will be gracing the field for their first turn at the Chinese New Year Cup.

On the Hong Kong home team, players Cristiano Preigchadt Cordeiro, Christian Kwesi Annan, and Au Yeung You Chung are new representatives of the city vying for the cup. This much-awaited event is drawing in high demand.
