In commemoration of Women’s Month, national carrier Malaysia Airlines has organised a historic all-female flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching on Sunday, March 5.
Operated by captain Noorsazrina Zulkifi and officer Wong Wei Ming, the special flight was conducted to promote gender equality in aviation.

“We celebrated International Women’s [Month] with an all-women flight from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Kuching (KCH), [led] by Malaysia Aviation Group’s [all-female] workforce,” the carrier said in a Facebook post.
The flight departed from Malaysia’s capital city at 11:36 AM and arrived in Kuching at around 1:05 PM, with passengers receiving the airline’s “Pilot Polly” plushie toys as a special token.
Malaysia Aviation Group’s chief sustainability officer Philip See said in a Simple Flying report that they are committed to empowering women to actively pursue their aspirations.
“What makes the all-women flight extra special is that it necessitates a holistic approach that encompasses advancing women’s participation in technical positions and diminishing income inequality,” he said.

Malaysia Airlines is an internationally-acclaimed company operating in more than 60 countries. Since its inception in 1947, the carrier has earned numerous awards, including “Asia’s Leading Airline for Business Class” at the 29th World Travel Awards.
