Tim Burton Tests Positive for COVID-19, Cancels Appearance at KL Exhibit
Following the announcement of Tim Burton’s appearance at the opening ceremony of “The World of Tim Burton” pop-up museum tomorrow, Toybox Projects regrets to inform fans that the meet-and-greet with the American filmmaker is cancelled.
In a statement issued on March 19, Toybox Projects confirmed that Burton tested positive for COVID-19 and “will no longer be able to travel to Kuala Lumpur.”
“We know this will come as an enormous disappointment to those who had hoped to catch a glimpse of him at the opening of The World of Tim Burton, however, the health of Mr. Burton is our top priority,” the release read.
Featuring over 540 items of Burton’s creations in filmmaking history, the exhibit will take place at the Pavilion Shopping Centre in Bukit Jalil starting tomorrow until July 30. This is supposedly Burton’s first time to visit Malaysia, however, he will instead be greeting fans virtually with a video message.
Despite this unfortunate turn of events, ticket sales are still ongoing via KOL Nation. Ticket prices range between RM48-RM1,500, while children under the age of five are free to enter. The exhibition is open daily from 10 AM-10 PM, with the last admission at 9 PM.
