With The Londoner, MGM, Wynn, and more under its belt, Macau is officially hailed as the city with the most five-star hotels globally, according to the 2024 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards.

The city held on to its top spot in the said category, clocking in with 22 five-star hotels, including the list’s newest addition: the French Suites hotel Paiza Lofts in Cotai Strip. The recognition solidifies the city as one of the top destinations for luxurious travellers.

Other hotels in Macau earning five stars from the award-giving body are Encore Macau, Four Seasons Hotel Macau, Galaxy Hotel, Grand Lisboa, Hotel Okura Macau, Morpheus, Nüwa Macau, and The Ritz-Carlton, among others.

Meanwhile, four hotels in the city were given four stars, namely St. Regis, Mandarin Oriental, Conrad, and Grand Hyatt. In addition to hotels, Forbes also awarded five stars to 23 restaurants and 16 spas in Macau.

Following Macau closely is London, with 20 five-star hotels on the list. This includes The Berkeley, The Connaught, and The Egerton House Hotel.
