70th Macau Grand Prix – Family Carnival to Kick Off Festivities on May 6-7
The 70th Macau Grand Prix's Family Carnival will kick off this weekend as a run-up to the major international sporting event happening in November and to keep racing fans on their toes.
The two-day carnival, which will run May 6-7 from 10 AM-6 PM, will be held for the first time at the Coloane Karting Track, according to a press release by the Sports Bureau via Macau’s government portal on May 3. The event was initially set for late April, but had to be moved due to less-than-ideal weather conditions. This kicks off the festivities for the 70th Macau Grand Prix, which is scheduled on Nov. 11-12 and 16-19.
Families can get into the racing spirit at the karting track as it serves as one of Macau's main training bases for motorsports. Adults and children alike can also learn more about motorsports with interactive games such as little kart racing drivers. Those aged 18 and above may also take part in a karting experience, granted that they hold a light motor vehicle driving licence. Onsite registration will be open on the day of the event and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Two buses will be available for residents and tourists to provide shuttle services to and from the Coloane Karting Track from the Macau Forum, Taipa Central Park, and Seac Pai Van Integrated Shopping Centre.
