FIA GT, Formula 3 World Cups in Macau Grand Prix Return This November 2023
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) GT and Formula 3 World Cups will take place in Macau on Nov. 16-19, 2023, the motor sport organisation announced today. This year’s event is also a celebration of the Macau Grand Prix’s 70th anniversary.
The two competitions were first held in the autonomous region in 2019 and will return to its traditional venue at Macau’s Guia Circuit as part of the three-year agreement between the FIA, Macau’s FIA member club, Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC), and the Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee.
The race will include two 40-minute practice sessions and two qualifying sessions for Formula 3, while GT cars will have two 30-minute practice sessions followed by a single qualifying session of the same duration.
“Both competitions will be held across two race heats over the weekend, each with a qualifying race followed by a title-deciding main race. The race durations will be 10 and 15 laps for F3 [cars] and 12 and 16 laps for GT cars. The F3 World Cup winner will be classed as the overall Macau Grand Prix winner,” the release read.
The FIA GT World Cup is open for registration from July 1-Aug. 31, while the FIA F3 World Cup is until Sept. 30.
