MGM Lion Dance Festival Showcases Traditional Dances and Craft till Oct. 7

Macau's vibrant cultural tapestry becomes even more enchanting this year, as MGM proudly presents the "MGM Lion Dance Festival," a celebration of traditional Chinese dance culture and crafts from Sept. 23 to Oct. 7.

Scheduled for Oct. 6 and 7, Barra Square will host 17 southern lion dance troupes, all vying for the prestigious title. Fans from around the world can also witness this spectacle, as the event will be live-streamed across various online platforms.

Alongside MGM’s annual lion dance contest, the International Lion Dance Championship – MGM Cup engages with artisans from Foshan Liansheng, demonstrating the intricate art of crafting lion heads and drums. Attendees can delve deep into Lingnan culture through thematic exhibitions, interactive workshops, outdoor installations, and more.

Jointly organised with the Dragon & Lion Dance Federation of Foshan and supported by Foshan Liansheng, the MGM Lion Dance Festival promises to be a melting pot of cultural exchange, resonating with the city's ethos of preserving tradition while embracing the new.
