Witness This Installation Art Exhibition at Galaxy Macau Until May 6
In partnership with the Macau Artist Society and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, Galaxy Entertainment Group unveiled its “GENESIS: Contemporary Installation Art Journey” exhibition, aimed at celebrating new beginnings.
Launched on Feb. 2 at Galaxy Macau’s art space, GalaxyArt, the exhibition features the works of three emerging local artists, namely Ng Man Wai, Sou Leng Fong, and Cheong Hoi I, offering its visitors a peek at Macau’s contemporary art scene.
Among the pieces to be featured is Wai’s “Doppelgänger: The Apple.” This piece shines a new light on the fruit of wisdom and the symbol of good health, the fruit apple, by allowing its guests to explore its details on every “slice.”
Meanwhile, Fong’s “Blooming” is a chandelier-like installation inspired by plants and marine life. On the other hand, Hoi I’s arched bridge-shaped "Pleased as Fruit Punch" mesmerises the guests with its reflective surfaces that create a kaleidoscopic and colorful effect.
The exhibit also promises thought-provoking experiences with its workshops, led by the artists themselves. This comes in three themes: “Doppelgänger: The Apple,” “Making, Diffusing Stone – Nutrient,” and “Pleasant Light Making.” To sign up for these workshops, go here.
Visitors can also redeem a limited-edition gift when they post a photo of the exhibition on social media or join various games by Galaxy Macau throughout the exhibition period.
The exhibition will run until May 6, 2024. Admission is free, so don’t miss it!
