National Museum of the Philippines Reopens on Oct. 19

The National Museum of the Philippines is reopening its doors from Oct. 19, 2021, following an easing of restrictions in Metro Manila.

Its three flagship museums—the National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Anthropology, and the National Museum of Natural History—will accept fully vaccinated persons in groups of 100 per museum per session, according to an announcement on Oct. 15.

Visitors are required to make a reservation online at least one day prior to their desired date. The morning session is available between 9 AM and 12 PM (11 AM cut-off time), while the afternoon session is from 1 PM to 4 PM (3 PM cut-off time) on Tuesdays through Sundays. Group reservations are limited to five persons only.

Aside from presenting their vaccination card, visitors are required to fill up a health declaration form and have a temperature check to gain entry. Wearing face masks and face shields is also required within the museums.

The Philippine government placed Metro Manila under Alert Level 3 from Alert Level 4 from Oct. 16-31, allowing cinemas, theme parks, recreational parks, and tourist attractions to operate at 30% capacity.
