Manila Water Secures P200 Million From BPI to Improve Supply in Bulacan
Bulakan Water Inc., a subsidiary of Manila Water, has secured a P200 million long-term loan from the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) in a bid to improve the distribution of water in Bulacan.
Bulakan Water will use the proceeds to enhance the “accessibility and quality of water supply” to more than 12,000 residents of the municipality. The subsidiary company will also expand Bulacan’s water network and upgrade its existing sanitation and water facilities.
A concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System, Manila Water provides water supply to more than six million people in Manila’s east zone network.
In 2018, the water services company inked a deal with Bulakan Water to design, construct, rehabilitate, and develop Bulacan’s water system.
Manila Water reached nearly 8 million customers following its expansion to 1.3 million water service connections in the country.
