Here’s the Tea: The Matcha Tokyo Opens Second Branch in Gateway Mall, QC

Good news, besteas from the north! You can now satisfy your matcha cravings as The Matcha Tokyo just opened their second branch at Gateway Mall 2 in Quezon City.

The coming of the second store was announced on their Instagram account around early December and we’re thankful that we didn’t have to wait long for its arrival!

The Matcha Tokyo is a Japanese brand that offers heavenly matcha goodness. They serve 100% organic and high-quality matcha handpicked from Japan that’s as premium and clean as they come.

Compared to their first branch at Mitsukoshi in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), this new store is much bigger with a seating capacity of 36 people. The interior took on a modernized look of Japanese cafés, with cushioned seats and walls covered in limewash paint. It’s perfect for your IG feed!

The store offers the same menu — iced lattes, soft-serve ice creams, canned cakes, cookies, and energy bars — with most of them matcha-flavored, of course!

For the drinks, you can choose among their three types of matcha: the Japan Premium, which has low bitterness for those who aren’t that fond of earthy tastes; the Kyoto Uji, which offers a refreshing taste; and the GOKO, which is a rare handpicked leaf that gives off a strong taste.
